The Story Behind Ven Camilo
Ven Camilo
A quiet nod to my own name. I took Kevin, dropped the "Ke," swapped the "i" for an "e," and suddenly I had Ven, a name that's mine. It fit perfectly, not just phonetically but with everything else the name stands for.
First, the Ven, pronounced like "Ben," but it's also the Spanish word for "come." To me, it's an invitation. Come as you are. It also nods to my favorite video game, Kingdom Hearts. There's a character named Ventus, or "Ven" for short. His other half is Roxas, and funny enough, that's who I named my blue merle mini Aussie after, @Roxastheminiaussie. I've also got my tri colored mini Aussie, Terra, another name pulled straight from that same world. If you know Kingdom Hearts, you know Terra, Ventus, and Roxas are all bound together in one story, so having the three of them in my life, two dogs and a brand, feels right.
Having Ven in my business name keeps a little tribute to both my pups and that story. Roxas, both the character and my blue merle, represents the parts of myself I've worked to understand, the quiet, emotional, sometimes fractured parts. Roxas was a symbol of duality, someone who wasn't sure where he belonged but still chose to care deeply. That mirrored how I felt for most of my life. Naming my dog Roxas was a way to honor that story, and keeping Ven in my brand was my way of saying, I see you, I'm still you, and I've grown because of you.
The other half is Camilo, my middle name, the one my mother always used. It's a name that has followed me into every room I've entered.
And for the fans who caught it, Ven Camilo has the same number of syllables as Ben Kenobi. That wasn't by accident. Ben was always the quiet protector, the one who carried purpose without demanding the spotlight. He chose mentorship, presence, and restraint over glory.
So that's how it came together.
It's my bridge between culture and creation, between childhood and business, between fantasy and the world I'm building in real time. I created this name to carry the pieces of me.
